We offer a range of beginner, intermediate and advanced classes where we delve more deeply into the methods and processes used in geometric design. The classes focus on different aspects of technique and design looking at geometry and pattern from sites around the world.
Classes have a specific focus with the objective of developing a deeper understanding of the topic as a whole. We explore the patterns in detail working through the underlying structures within them as well as the history and application of these patterns.
We update our classes regularly and multiple times, so take a look and see what we have on offer. All current classes are listed below. You can also contact us if there is a specific class that you want us to run again or a specific topic that is of interest to you.

Discover the Art Behind the Pattern
Discover rare and breathtaking patterns from across cultures, learn to draw them with the timeless tools of compass and ruler, and watch your creations come alive as you transfer, tessellate, and paint your own intricate designs.

Students will need to purchase some art supplies, such as a sketchbook, watercolour paper, and paints. Compasses will be provided for those who don't have them. A detailed list of required supplies and where to purchase them in Granada will be provided upon enrolment.

The Art of Munhani - in Lecrin Valley
All Day Workshop
Friday March 6

Munhani is a traditional Pakistani art form used in the art of illumination, characterized by elegant botanical motifs and flowing curved lines. Join us to explore how to draw and paint this stunning design in a relaxed, guided workshop.
Beginners and experienced artists are equally welcome. No prior experience is needed—all materials are provided.
Unwind, create, and connect with centuries of artistic tradition in a warm, supportive setting. Places are limited, so book early.

World of Pattern
An Online Monthly Pattern Club
Join our monthly pattern club, where we gather online to explore and draw a new pattern each session. This time we are going to step beyond the patterns of the Alhambra, embarking on a global journey, discovering and creating patterns from all around the world.
Each session will focus on a different design, looking at where it comes from and how it’s created, guiding you step-by-step as we draw together, followed by a Q&A and a chance to share your work. One of the unique aspects of this world of geometry is the sense of community each course fosters, building connections and friendships as we explore the beauty of geometric patterns. I look forward to seeing familiar faces regularly!

Happy New Year everyone. I hope 2026 has begun exactly as you hoped and is already gently bubbling away with all types of good things. To celebrate the season we are easing into the year with two online sessions this month and two truly beautiful patterns. There is also a special combination option if you would like to join both classes.
Monday January 12 we will draw a mesmerising rosette inspired by the geometry of rosettes, stars and wandering snowflakes. It is a joyful constellation of spinning squares and stars with overlapping pathways that weave and dance across the page. This one makes my heart sing and I would love you to draw it with me.
Monday January 26 we travel to a part of the world very close to my heart as we draw an extraordinary hexagonal pattern from Kyrgyzstan. This design comes from the town of Uzgen and is from the eleventh century brick mausoleums decorated with carved brickwork and terracotta tiles. Uzgen sat along the Silk Road between Kashmir and Tashkent and these monuments are now national symbols even appearing on banknotes. This pattern is an absolute joy to draw and I am really looking forward to sharing it with you.

No experience is required!
Whether you're new to art, a casual creator, or a seasoned artist looking to add a new technique to your repertoire, this course offers a welcoming and accessible environment for everyone. During class we will draw the patterns and constructs designs based upon the specific methods involved. Time is also spent studying the techniques that apply to drawing these designs as well as techniques for painting using different mediums. Then after class you are sent the recording as well as a pdf with detailed step by step instructions, so you can draw the pattern as many times as you like!

We’ll start by looking at grids that will allow you to extract various patterns, optimising what you can understand about patterns as you progress.
To maximise our time together, we'll focus on drawing rather than painting, ensuring that we can dive deeper into pattern work and understanding.
